Kerry: Carter Redux?

Robert Spencer reminds us all of the great debt of gratitude we owe to that littlest of Presidents, Jimmy "Peanut" Carter. It was Carter who, after all, was responsible for the US abandoning the Shah of Iran and allowing a radical Islamic government to take its place. It was Carter who said "Fuck the Shah" and thus encouraged the violent overthrow of that government. And of course the result was that Carter was himself destroyed by his failure to deal with the hostage crisis that was the direct result of his fumbling and stupidity. And for all this, the Democrats love him and want to put his policies back in the White House with their new appeasement candidate, John F-ing Kerry.
