The American Story

Why failing to teach history is bad for democracy.

And speaking of educational collapse, John Fund writes about how students are graduating from high schools and colleges without even the most basic knowledge of American history. This is a national disgrace and proof that the system of government schools should be abandoned in favor of private education. If an American car company were to produce functioning automobiles only 40 percent of the time and the other 60 percent fell apart as soon as you got them home, they would be out of business in a week. But government schools can continue to fail year after year and somehow they just keep right on going.
