What Europe Really Needs

The Continent has turned its back on both the past and the future.

One of my favorite historians, Paul Johnson, writes on the decline and fall of old Europe. And it is indeed a sad tale. For Europe was once great and is the birthplace of the modern world as we know it. Europe was the inheritor of both Christianity as well as the knowledge and wisdom of the ancient Greeks and Romans. But Europe today is an empty shell that no longer values its ancient heritage. And the attempt to remove both religion as well as history and philosophy from a culture will in the end be seen as Europe's last attempt at suicide.
