Afghans take it one step at a time.
Rich Lowry reports on the situation in Afghanistan in this article from National Review. While the country is still in need of help to clean up the mess left by thirty years of wars and invasion, the people there are making good progress towards a more free and democratic country. Doubtless the progress will be bumpy and uneven and there is much work to do. But it is encouraging to hear about the changes which are underway there and that for the first time in many years the people there have hope for the future.
