For the ACLU, Bush and Ashcroft have created a climate of fear, not terrorists.
Heather Mac Donald writes in this article on how the ACLU has somehow come to the conclusion that terrorism does not exist. It seems that as a group they can get loads of government cash but they have to abide by the law which states that you can't donate said money to known terrorist groups. The ACLU's solution to this problem is to close their eyes and pretend that such groups are just in the imagination of evil Republicans. Problem solved.
